What is One Toronto?
Something powerful is happening in Toronto: as our City Council launches a sweeping review of public services with threats of library closures and service cuts, residents are engaging with our local government. They’re appealing to our city councillors to protect vital public services and work towards building a city that makes us all proud.
We all want to live in a city that is united, respectful of our diversity, and built on a foundation of integrity – where local government puts the needs of the people who live here ahead of powerful financial interests.
Our goal at One Toronto is to ensure that the public debate about the future of our city focuses on a positive vision for a strong, inclusive Toronto. A vision for building a city that offers everyone respect, a decent quality of life – a place where we all feel we belong.
We’re working to make sure residents and community organizations have their voices heard. There is much at stake. Our city council is faced with stark choices: cut vital public services or invest in building healthier communities, a cleaner environment, a safe, united city that offers an excellent quality of life.
All residents of Toronto have an interest in our city and the right to make our voices heard. That’s what local democracy is all about. Join us!
